Join the Chicago Automobile Trade Association (CATA) for the 2025 Chicago Drives Electric Industry & Media Day, Thursday, Oct. 2 from 8am - 1pm. This exclusive event will provide you one-on-one time with the EVs to gather driving impressions, content creation, vehicle education and more. Below is the schedule for the morning. Thursday, Oct. 2

  • 7:30 a.m. – Media registration opens at ComEd building (3 Lincoln Center, Oakbrook Terrace)
  • 7:30-8:00 a.m. – Networking & Continental Breakfast, sponsored by Jeep 
  • 8:00-8:30 a.m. – Vehicle Walkaround of 2026 Jeep Cherokee Hybrid
  • 8:30-9:00 a.m. – ComEd News Conference: ComEd Announces Remaining EV Rebate Funding in 2025
  • 9:00-10:30 a.m. – EV Test Drives & Content Creation
  • 10:30-11:00 a.m. – Test Drives Close; Program Continues at the CATA Building (18W200 Butterfield Road, Oakbrook Terrace)
  • 11:00-11:30 p.m. – EV Shopper Attitudes, David Thomas, CDK
    • The industry is preparing for a post-incentive world when it comes to EV sales. That makes it an important time to understand what car shoppers are looking for at the dealership no matter the powertrain. CDK will showcase the latest data on what today’s EV shoppers are concerned with as well as how they compare to traditional gas and hybrid shoppers.
  • 11:30 a.m. -12:00 p.m. Driven by Change: Motivations Behind Today’s Car Shoppers, Amie Lindaas and Jenni Newman, Cars.com
    • Explore the evolving landscape of car shopping with insights from Cars.com experts Jenni Newman and Amie Lindaas. This presentation, Driven by Change: Motivations Behind Today's Car Shoppers, delves into what triggers a car purchase, current shopper mindsets, budget considerations, and the most sought-after vehicle features. Learn how life events, economic realities, and technological advancements are reshaping the consumer car-buying journey, with a focus on Gen Z, Millennial, and Gen X shoppers. Discover key pain points in the shopping process and how understanding these motivations can help reshape automotive strategies.
  • 12:00-1:00 p.m. – Lunch and Keynote Presentation: Electrification: Trends, Policies, and Strategies with Stephanie Brinley, Associate Director, AutoIntelligence, S&P Global Mobility 
    • Stephanie Brinley will explore the latest developments in electrification within the US market, focusing on key factors shaping this transition. We will analyze how consumer demand is ultimately driving the pace of adoption and what that looks like in 2025. We will examine recent changes in US government policies regarding electrification, including incentives and regulatory frameworks. As the pace of adoption for electrification is playing out differently from some previous projections, we will provide insights into the strategic and tactical changes being implemented by original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) as they navigate the path to electrification, as they strive to remain competitive and profitable in an evolving market.
